Five Digit License Plate Frenzy in UAE

More auction frenzy surrounding numerics, this in the United Arab Emirates. The Roads and Transportation Authority auctioned off 2, 3, 4, and 5-digit license plates, and the bidding was fierce:
The furious bidding and charged atmosphere were carried on through the very end of the session where five-digit numbers of F and G Categories were also subject to heated bidding. The total income raised from selling 13 five-digit numbers reached Dh5.568 million led by the number plate 20000 sold for Dh500,000. Ahmed Bahrouzian, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency, ranked the 56th Auction as one among the most outstanding number plate auctions in terms of turnout. Bidding momentum was maintained throughout the session for obtaining number plates ranging from two to five-digit numbers.
Given the currency conversion, that means the number 20000 sold for $136,147. We previously reported on five-digit license plate sales in Dubai, were the number 13000 went for $39,905.
